The first pilot issue of Story Lux Kids was published in Slovene in October 2023 and was designed for children aged 3–12. The magazine offers original stories presented in a fun, witty, fresh, and creative way—using art to both inspire and teach young readers.
Inside, readers found stories about the natural life cycle of the great tit, plants and fairies, the planets through the days of the week, and tooth-fairy traditions around the world.

We also included children’s jokes and funny quotes, plus a story written by a child, “The Handkerchief That Didn’t Know How to Wipe.” In the feature “Draw Your Day,” children were invited to express themselves through an illustrated diary. A well-known parable about life’s values and self-trust, “The Priceless Stone,” was presented in a fresh way. The issue closed with thoughts on reading with children, shared by the editor, Tadeja Pirnat Battelli.

The pilot had 120 pages, 29.7 × 21 cm (A4), softcover, thread-sewn with matte lamination. It helped us gather valuable feedback from readers and better understand their needs and interests. Based on this, we’ve adapted the content and design of future issues to better meet our audience’s expectations.
